COMPLIANCE GENERALIST

GENERAL INSURANCE / UNDERWRITING COMPLIANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

£ 40000 - £ 50000 + Bonus + Benefits

Our client, a niche General Insurer and Underwriter is looking for an experienced Compliance Generalist to support the Head of Compliance across a broad and exciting range of compliance tasks.  Reporting to the Head of Compliance (& deputising where necessary), duties will include:

  • Monitor and advise the Business on all relevant legislative and compliance developments impacting on the business and the Company.
  • Regularly review all regulatory and statutory materials relevant to the business and provide commentary to the Compliance Officer
  • Investigate compliance risks and issues and provide feedback as necessary.
  • Provide compliance advice, guidance and support, assist in seeking resolution of compliance issues including any new regulatory initiatives, and provide education and training to the business as necessary.
  • Ensure that procedure manuals and policies are kept up-to-date and accurate, and that they reflect the current regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Respond to ad hoc queries working with business managers to assist in delivering regulatory compliance, monitoring compliance and general administration.
  • Create an audit framework which is suitable for the Business and undertake monitoring reviews ensuring that suitable solutions are implemented to address gaps or weaknesses identified.

You should have at least 3 years of compliance experience gained with similar GI/Underwriting business or covering such within a consulting/professional services firm or the regulator, with a good understanding of the Insurance Markets and Products and the applicable regulations.
