RISK MANAGER

FRENCH SPEAKING WITH CENTRAL OR WEST AFRICAN RISK EXPERIENCE FROM INVESTMENT BANKING/ INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT (INCLUDING PRIVATE EQUITY) OR DEVELOPMENT FINANCE

Our client, a leading African based Finance & Investment group, seeks a Risk Manager to; 

  • Contribute to the Enterprise Risk Management framework and the risk strategy
  • Support the Risk team in reviewing and updating risk and risk-related policies
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Enterprise Risk Management framework, tools, practices, and policies to identify, measure, report, monitor and manage enterprise risks
  • Support the Risk team in ensuring that the risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations and the strategic imperatives of the Group
  • Support the Risk team in conducting risk assessments, identifying, measuring, analyzing, and providing insights on strategic, financial, and operational risks
  • Monitor, analyze and aggregate risks within the organization and report on these risks
  • Develop risk dashboards and risk reports to provide information, analysis and insights to Risk owners & Senior management to monitor, mitigate and manage risks
  • Support the Risk team in implementing compliance with risk policies, procedures, and controls consistent with the risk appetite of the Group and Business Units.
  • Support the implementation of the internal control framework and proactively identify and implement internal control improvements
  • Assist the Risk team with the co-ordination and implementation of internal audit work
  • Assist in implementing education and training to ensure employees have adequate awareness and understanding of the overall risk strategy, the Enterprise Risk Management framework, other risk-related policies and internal control standards
  • Stay abreast of industry practices and knowledge

You must be a French speaking graduate with at least 7 years experience of risk management from investment management, development finance, private equity or investment banking environment gained from one of the French speaking Central or West African countries (unless based in the EU/UK with risk experience covering Francophone countries in Central or West Africa, now looking to relocate back to Africa). You must also be fluent in English.
