We are exclusively recruiting for our client, a start-up well-funded Regulatory Consultancy with a difference. What does that mean? Well, they are a group of PhD Machine Learning experts that are developing and using AI models to drive specific Product Regulatory Compliance Frameworks for their clients who are the largest Global Automotive and Electronics Manufacturing firms. Reporting the CEO, you will be their first in-house Product Regulatory Specialist and the go‑to subject matter expert on the laws, regulations, and standards that impact the design, manufacturing and operation of complex physical systems. Duties will include;
- Conduct in‑depth research on current and emerging regulations and laws that impact customers' products
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure regulatory insights are accurately embedded into models, workflows and customer‑facing features.
- Help define the standards, practices, and processes that will shape the firms' regulatory intelligence capabilities as they scale.
- Specifically ensure that client's platforms & products are fully accurate and compliant as to environmental and materials regulations (e.g., global PFAS restrictions) and safety and emissions standards (e.g., California Air Resources Board requirements)
You should be a senior individual contributor who thrives at the intersection of regulatory affairs, product compliance and technology innovation with at least 5 years of professional experience in US regulatory/compliance roles within a multi-product or manufacturing context — ideally in automotive, mobility or other highly regulated industries.
A Bachelor's or advanced degree in a technical field (e.g., engineering) advantageous, as might any previous experience working as a Regulatory Consultant (e.g. Big 4 or Magic Circle) or with AI, data platforms or regulatory technology tools. However more important is a proven ability to research, interpret and apply complex regulations to both hardware & software products and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into structured, actionable insights for technical teams.
Our client is mostly interested in candidates who are very excited about working for a Regulatory Tech start-up who are interested in global regulatory research into various products and how Machine Learning can be used to improve and enhance Regulatory Compliance.
Please note, whilst remote that you are still expected to be in the USA (and with full working rights there).
